A champion for a better future in Toronto–St. Paul's

Leslie Church is an experienced private and public sector leader and community advocate. She has held executive roles in one of the world’s most prominent technology companies, practiced law at a leading Toronto law firm, and served at the most senior levels in government.

Leslie is ready to build a better future for the residents of Toronto–St. Paul’s. She listens, works hard, and gets big things done.

Leslie has strong roots in our neighbourhood. She attended law school at the University of Toronto, started her career at a law firm in the city, and it’s where she and her husband got married and started their family of three children, Adaira, Ethan, and Meghan.

Leslie has spent much of her career serving her community, advising governments, and working with local organizations in Toronto and across the country. Most recently, she served as a senior advisor and Chief of Staff in the federal government, where her work and leadership contributed to the development of $10-a-day child care, initiatives to build more affordable homes, and increased investments to reduce health care waitlists.

As the next Member of Parliament for Toronto–St. Paul’s, Leslie will work tirelessly with the Liberal team to build more homes, take strong climate action, lower the cost of living, invest in stronger public health care, and ensure every generation has a fair chance to succeed.

She will be our voice in Ottawa to fight for our priorities:

• Supporting renters through the Renters’ Bill of Rights, funding legal aid for tenant disputes, ensuring on-time rent payments are reflected in your credit record, and cracking down on short-term rentals and speculators.

• Fighting to make Toronto–St. Paul’s transit work, so traffic works too. Fast-track planned investments for more reliable service and no more long closures.

• Fighting against rising antisemitism by advocating for legislating safe zones and increased education, and supporting law enforcement in our community.

• Working to unlock federal support for local greenspaces including the Beltline Trail, Cedarvale Park, and the Davisville Yard as a signature park and community space.

• Investing in community organizations that support local arts, culture and youth, like Wychwood Barns, Tarragon Theatre, and Nia Centre for the Arts.

• Keeping small businesses in our community by pushing for commercial rent protections and conditions on new development.
